KNDZ Coffee FAQs - Drip Bag & Pour-Over Questions
Do you test your coffee for mold or toxins?
Coffee is actually considered a very low-risk product when it comes to mold and toxins, especially when proper sourcing and roasting standards are followed.
At KNDZ, our beans are carefully inspected and graded before roasting. We work with a trained Q Grader who evaluates the green beans and removes any defective beans before they ever reach the roasting stage. This is a standard quality control practice in specialty coffee.
After roasting, the coffee is stored and packaged using food-grade processes to ensure freshness and quality all the way to your cup.
Because we work with specialty-grade beans and professional quality grading, we are confident in the quality and safety of the coffee we serve.
How to Brew the Best Pour-Over Drip Bag Coffee
TL;DR: Open, Set, Pour, Enjoy!
- Like stronger coffee? Add less water!
- Do not submerge filter directly in liquid for more than one minute.
- Handle with care. Keep drip bags uncrushed and free from heavy pressure during travel.
You Will Need:
-
1 KNDZ COFFEE drip bag
-
1 tall mug (best size: ~3.1"/8 cm wide opening)
-
hot water
-
a kettle with a narrow spout for slower pouring
Brewing Steps:
-
Start boiling water.
-
Gently tear open the top of the drip bag.
-
Gently unfold the paper arms to avoid damaging the filter and hang the drip bag on your mug. Ensure both arms are fully extended and secure on your cup before brewing.
-
Take your boiling water off the heat after it boils and wait 1-2 minutes (best temperature: ~90°C/194°F).
-
Wet all the coffee grounds and wait 30 seconds to let the coffee bloom (around 30 ml/1 oz/2 tbsp of water).
-
Pour water slowly in small circles and refill to 3/4 of the bag approximately 3 times (around 170 ml/6 oz/0.7 cups of water total). This will keep the pressure low and water filtering speed slow so the final coffee concentration is higher.
-
When dripping stops, remove the drip bag by pinching both side arms of the bag at once.
-
Drink with your favourite condiments like milk or sugar. Enjoy!
